At the age of 18, Stewart purchased his first 240sx. It was a 98 in perfect condition, but not for long. Just about one year later he discovered the fun of drifting. It all started at a beginner level, learning on the street from friends or in private parking lots. It wasn't long before drifting was starting to get recognized in Texas and an organization called Texas Drift began hosting events in nearby venues. For two to three years he drove at any event he could from Texas Drift to Daily Drifter even to Louisiana events, until the Texas NOPI Drift qualifier showed up to Dallas. Stewart finished in 2nd place which qualified him for a NOPI Drift license and he hasn't looked back.
The NOPI Drift 07 season had a lot in store for Stewart. It was his first competitive season and much was to be learned. Anything imaginable had happened to him while he was out on the road... his car was totaled, travelling had taken its tolls, on the road repairs were strenuous and the competition was tough. He overcame these obstacles and landed in the top half of the field of drivers. Beyond the difficulties of completing a season of competitive driving, Stewart hadn't lost touch with the original meaning of the sport... to have fun. He attended many local events in most of the cities he had stopped in along the way both to hone up on his skills and go drive with some of his friends and colleagues. Among the list of events attended was one special invitation to China for a chance to battle it out in a series that would place top US drivers vs. top China drivers.
The 08 season of driving is already looking up for Stewart. With a new car being built (updates can be seen in news section) he is sure to have a more reliable setup with a competitive edge to it. He plans on driving a full season of NOPI Drift again as he is already a licensed driver for this series. His other goals are to acquire licenses for both Formula Drift and D1 Grand Prix USA. Once again, beyond professional driving you can see Stewart competing in many local events across the country.
